Hanoi, Vietnam – The Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IP Vietnam) and the Academy of Science, Technology and Innovation (ASTI) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on the occasion of the 133rd birthday of the great President Ho Chi Minh and the 10th anniversary of Vietnam Science and Technology Day, in order to further strengthen coordination activities to well perform the function of state management in the field of science and technology, innovation and intellectual property.
The signing ceremony was solemnly held with the participation of Mr. Dinh Huu Phi, Director General of IP Vietnam, Mr. Hoang Minh, Director of ASTI, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Communication Research and Development, leaders of IP Vietnam and ASTI, leaders of departments and centers affiliated to IP Vietnam and ASTI.
IP Vietnam and ASTI are two units of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) with many activities that need to support each other in terms of expertise and resources. This is the first MoU signed by ASTI and IP Vietnam. This MoU will be the basis for the two parties to promote their advantages and potentials to cooperate more effectively in research, training, staff training and consulting activities on science and technology, innovation and intellectual property for the whole country. IP Vietnam and the Academy can accordingly implement cooperation activities in an active, cohesive and systematic manner.
In addition, MoU shows that IP Vietnam has a cooperative relationship with many agencies and units under MoST and the Departments of Science and Technology of provinces and cities across the country. On the basis of this MoU, IP Vietnam and ASTI will work together to better implement specific and practical activities that contribute to improving the efficiency of the state management of science, technology, innovation and intellectual property of MoST.
